Soccer:

SKILLZ-N-DRILLZ: Competition-based play!

Your child will learn the fundamental skills required to play soccer, and will be given the opportunity to build upon and enhance those skills each week! The children will practice working together as a team and learn the benefits of group play, playing a structured “game” against fellow athletes every week.

Teams are separated by age and children progress their skills as they level up:

  • Tots in Training (age 2-3) with Parents: These very beginner athletes will learn how to dribble and kick the soccer ball, and you (as a parent) won’t miss a single moment! With foundational games and activities, your little ones will improve their balance and coordination as they navigate the sport for the first time.

  • Littles in Training (age 4-5): These little athletes will really start to learn what soccer is about. They’ll learn how to run and dribble, how to pass to a teammate, how to score a goal; ultimately how the game is played “for real”. All of this culminates in a competition day, where they put all their skills to the test, in a structured game against their fellow Littles!

  • Athletes in Training (6-7): These little athletes know how to play soccer! Now it’s time to hone their skills to become competitive players and confident teammates. They will practice all sorts of skills, such as: dribbling, passing, receiving, trapping and shooting accurately. As the drills become more complicated, these athletes become more adept and prepared for competitive play! They can test out their newfound agility on competition day, against fellow Athletes!

What to bring to each session:
- Completed forms (if you have not submitted them online)
- A soccer ball (size 3)
- Water
- Athletic clothing (something you can run in)
- Comfortable athletic shoes or cleats
- shin guards are helpful, but not required

We follow the US youth soccer Under 8 parameters and game day guidelines. For more information, go to this site: http://www.ntxsoccer.org/
